Etern Optoelectronics recently announced the official launch of its 100GHz DWDM TFF (Thin Film Filter), successfully solving the long-standing industry bottleneck of temperature shift control. The product's overall performance and long-term reliability have successfully reached international advanced levels, delivering an exceptional, high-tier alternative for global DWDM TFF components users.
Thin Film Filters (TFF) serve as the fundamental core chip inside Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transmission equipment, extensively deployed in OTN backbone networks, metropolitan area networks (MANs), and 5G fronthaul infrastructures. Heavily investing in the TFF industrialization pipeline since 2019, Etern Optoelectronics has equipped its manufacturing centers with high-end multi-layer coating systems and advanced testing instrumentation.

Overcoming Material Science Challenges
While numerous research institutions and enterprises have continuous investments in TFF development, achieving stable commercialization under stringent temperature shift constraints has long been an immense hurdle. Consequently, the high-end DWDM TFF chip supply chain has historically been concentrated among a limited number of vendors.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to creative engineering, ETERN's specialized TFF technology team deep-dived into basic material science. By optimizing the thermal coefficient matching between the TFF electrolyte dielectric film layers and the specialized silicon dioxide substrate, the team successfully restricted the center wavelength temperature drift to less than 0.11pm/°C, matching or surpassing leading global benchmarks.

Proven Reliability & Commercial Scale Delivery
Currently, ETERN's 100GHz DWDM TFF chips have entered full mass production and active commercial deployment inside global telecommunication infrastructures. Concurrently, the 50GHz DWDM TFF has completed small-batch trial manufacturing, and the production lines are fully capable of accepting customized CWDM4/LWDM Z-block TFF layouts alongside completed Z-block optical assemblies.
In terms of environmental endurance, the entire product portfolio has passed rigorous reliability verifications, including ultra-high temperature storage at 120°C and 85°C / 85%RH damp-heat tests for over 1,000 continuous hours, safely meeting Telcordia GR-1221-CORE international standards. To date, ETERN’s diversified packaged DWDM component solutions have delivered over 1.2 million channels, driving a total output value exceeding 20 million USD.
"Carrying dreams with light, building connectivity with chips. By closely tracking the market pulse and layout within the optoelectronics field for years, ETERN has established a robust industrial chain ecosystem spanning from commercial passive TFF/AWG chips to active VCSEL, DFB, and APD chips. This solid foundation ensures full vertical mastery across the 'Chip - Device - Module - Subsystem' industrial topology, enabling us to consistently refine advanced manufacturing for the global optical communication market."
