Etern Optoelectronics launch 25G SFP28 Bidi ZR for ultra distance

Etern Optoelectronics has expanded its 25G transceiver product line and recently started mass sales of the 25G SFP28 80km Bidi transceiver, which supports an 80km transmission distance. This product enables bidirectional data transmission over a single optical fiber, reducing the total number of fibers required for the system, lowering deployment costs, and simplifying installation.

The 25G SFP28 80km BiDi optical module features the following:

 

Long-Distance Transmission Enabled by High Link Budget

Through the combination of a high-output laser and a high-sensitivity receiver, a link budget of 29dB is achieved, supporting a maximum non-repeater transmission distance of 80km. Meanwhile, this product is suitable for large-scale network deployment scenarios where optical fiber loss is high or existing dark fibers are utilized, enhancing the reliability of wide-area communications.

 

Significant Reduction in Initial Deployment Costs

It adopts Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, using different wavelengths for uplink and downlink to realize single-fiber bidirectional transmission. This greatly reduces the number of optical fibers needed, thereby cutting overall costs. In addition, conventional products require additional repeater devices when the transmission distance exceeds 40km, while this product eliminates the need for any extra repeaters, significantly reducing the construction burden of installation and long-term operation and maintenance.

 

Energy-Efficient Design and Compatibility with Existing Equipment for Easy Deployment

In the commercial temperature range (0 ℃ to +70 ℃), its power consumption is controlled at 2.2W; in the industrial temperature range (−40 ℃ to +85 ℃), the power consumption is 2.8W, reaching an industry-leading level. The module can be directly inserted into standard SFP28 ports, enabling smooth upgrades using existing equipment.
